Evan Johnson's Record-Breaking Performance Leads Men's Golf At Fall Midwest Regional
OVERVIEW – FALL MIDWEST REGIONAL
LOCATION: Panther Creek Country Club – Springfield, Ill. (Par 72 – 7,092 yards)
RECAP: Led by a record-breaking performance by Evan Johnson, the Northwood men's golf finished sixth at the Fall Midwest Regional Monday-Tuesday (October 3-4).
INSIDE THE EVENT
- Northwood shot team scores of 295, 303 and 285 for a three-round total of 883 to place sixth overall.
- NU's final-round 285 ties for the second-lowest 18-hole score in program history, one shot behind the record of 284. That record was set a year ago at the Music City Invitational April 4.
- McKendree was the overall winner with an eleven-under par total of 858 (288-293-277), followed by Missouri-St. Louis at 862 (286-281-295).
- A total of 13 teams took part in the event.
TOP NU PERFORMERS
- Evan Johnson: 73-69-69=211 – third place overall – one shot out of first place. New Northwood 54-hole total record. Old record of 213 was set by Cam Lippoldt at the Don Underwood Invitational September 9-10, 2019.
- Carson Butterfield: 74-79-67=220 – tied for 20th. Final round 67 is one-shot off the program record of 66, which has been shot seven times.
- Viktor Nibell: 72-80-73=225 – tied for 32nd
- A total of 81 players competed in the tournament.

- Northwood will wrap up the fall portion of their schedule by competing at the Cedarville Invitational October 10-11.
