Bio

Jacob Fredal was named head coach of the newly reformed Northwood University men's lacrosse program in December of 2022.

“I am excited to have Jacob relaunch our men’s lacrosse program,” said Northwood Athletic Director Jeff Curtis. “He brings a great love of the sport and his excitement at the chance to start our program made him the right choice. His knowledge and ability to recruit the Detroit area will be a big part of our team having success in the future.”

Fredal has been working as the defensive coordinator at Detroit Country Day high school since December of 2020. The program has gone 34-4 in his two season on staff. They have reached the state finals and semifinals in those two seasons. He has also been working with one of the preeminent club programs in the state, the Juiced Cherries of Birmingham, since May of 2021.

A 2019 graduate of Le Moyne College with a degree in Finance, Fredal was a three-year player with the Dolphins as a long pole defender.  He was a part of the 2016 team that went undefeated and won the Division II NCAA national championship. For his career, the team posted an overall record of 49-5.

“I want to thank Jeff Curtis and Dr. Kent Macdonald for giving me the opportunity to be a part of this university and community,” said Fredal. “The excitement around the program has been experiencing a snow-ball effect throughout our campus and Michigan. Northwood offers a great fit to a lot of outstanding young man who play lacrosse. I am excited to bring more future leaders of our world onto our campus to be a part of this team.”
