Men's Soccer Earns 3-0 Win At Lake Erie

PAINESVILLE, OHIO – The Northwood University men's soccer team picks up a 3-0 victory over Lake Erie College on Sunday afternoon (October 4).

Having won six straight the Timberwolves are now7-1 overall, 6-1 in the GLIAC. The Storm are now 4-4-1 on the year, 4-2-1 in the GLIAC.

NU sophomore James Vaughan (Bexhill, England / St. Richards) scored his third goal of the season at 22:52 to put the Timberwolves ahead 1-0 going into halftime. Northwood controlled the offense, registering 12 shots and five corner kicks in the opening period.

The Timberwolves capitalized on a corner kick in the 62nd minute when Michael Ankoviak (West Bloomfield, Mich. / Walled Lake Northern) was able to put a kick from Keaton Levock (Clinton Twp., Mich. / Chippewa Valley) into the back of the yet to put NU ahead 2-0. Less than ten minutes later, Levock put the match away with his fifth goal of the season.

For the match, NU continued the offensive threat holding the advantage in shots (20-7) and corner kicks (8-3).

Northwood travels to St. Joseph's on Tuesday (October 6) with kickoff scheduled for 5 p.m. before traveling back to Ohio next weekend.
