Men's Soccer Earns 3-0 Road Win At St. Joseph's

RENSSELAER, IND. – The Northwood University men's soccer team traveled down to Saint Joseph's College and picked up a 3-0 win Tuesday evening (October 6).

As of Tuesday, the Timberwolves are ranked No. 11 in the country according to NSCAA Men's Soccer Rankings. With the win, NU increases their winning-streak to seven and improves to 8-1 on the year, 6-1 in the GLIAC. The Pumas drop to 5-5 overall with the loss.

Once again, Northwood scores early and often getting on the board as early as 5:48 into the match to go up 1-0. Senior James DeCosemo (Stokesley, England) netted his seventh goal of the season after he stole the ball from the Puma defense and found the back of the net from 17 yards out. Just over six minutes later, DeCosemo scored his eighth goal on the year from 25 yards on an assist from Keaton Levock (Clinton Twp., Mich. / Chippewa Valley). After leading 2-0, senior Mayowa Olufeko (London, England) scored his ninth goal of the year when he beat the defense on the left side for the goal.

The Pumas were able to keep NU scoreless in the second, despite the Timberwolves connecting on 19 shots (14 on the goal) and three corner kicks in the match.

Northwood continues their road stand, traveling to Malone on Friday (October 9) at 4 p.m. and Walsh on Sunday (October 11) at 3:30 p.m.
