Vaughan Lands D2CCA All-Midwest Region Second Team Honors

MIDLAND, MICH. – Northwood University senior midfielder James Vaughan was named to the Division II Conference Commissioner's Association All-Midwest Region second team Wednesday morning (November 15). The D2CCA all-region teams are nominated and selected by the region's sports information directors.

Vaughan, who was named first-team All-GLIAC as a midfielder this season, led the offensive attack for the Timberwolves with eight goals, six assists, and 22 points. Vaughan ranks second in the GLIAC in each category respectively. He is 4-5 on penalty kicks and posted three game-winning goals. Vaughan was also named the GLIAC Offensive Player of the Week the week of October 3.

Vaughan finishes his career tied for second in school history in assists (15), sixth in points (49), and eighth in goals (17). He was a three-time first-team All-GLIAC honoree, named to the 2016 GLIAC All-Tournament Team, and a starter on two GLIAC Championship teams (2015, 2017) and two GLIAC Tournament Championship teams (2014, 2015).

Northwood finished the season 11-4-3 overall and won its second GLIAC Championship in school history with a 9-1-2 record in conference play.
