Men's Soccer Moves To 2-0 With 5-2 Win Over Missouri S&T

RECAP: Led by a record-breaking performance by Teddy Stacey, Northwood moved to 2-0 with a 5-2 win in a wide-open contest against Missouri S&T Sunday afternoon (September 2).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood set the tone for the game right away, as Nino Evola netted a goal from Teddy Stacey just 1:55 into the game to put the Timberwolves up 1-0.
• Both teams had chances, but it was S&T who struck back with a goal in the 24th minute to level the score.
• NU came back strong exactly five minutes later on a goal from Ben Campbell. He headed home a ball off an indirect kick in the area. Stacey and Austin Hobbs picked up assists on the goal.
• Less than four minutes later, the Timberwolves made it 3-1 as Jack Doyle found the back of the net. Stacey picked up his third assist of the game at 32:47.
• Northwood kept the offense going with another goal less than three minutes later. After helping on the first three goals, Stacey scored one of his own. Evola had the assist to make the score 4-1, which is where the score remained into halftime.
• The Miners cut the lead to two early in the second half, scoring 1:46 in to cut the NU lead to 4-2.
• While both teams continued to create quality scoring opportunities, there was only one more goal scored in the contest. At 87:51, Hobbs made the final 5-2. Stacey registered his fourth assist of the game
