RECAP: Northwood men's soccer jumps out to early lead but falls in overtime 4-3 at Saginaw Valley Sunday (March 21).

GAME HIGHLIGHTS:

  • Northwood got off to a fast start, scoring in the second minute. August Hunter put a loose ball past the keeper in the six to give the Timberwolves a 1-0 lead.
  • Amedeo Crovasce made it 2-0 in the 19th minute. He took a shot that hit off the post and scored down the right side.
  • The Cardinals got one back before the end of the half at 35:29, which sent the game to the break with NU leading 2-1. SVSU held a 7-5 edge in shots and a 3-1 advantage in corner kicks in the first half.
  • Northwood extended their lead in the 50th minute thanks to Crovasce. He headed home a cross from Mykah Skervin to make the score 3-1.
  • Unfortunately for Northwood, that proved to be NU's lone shot in the second half. The Cardinals scored goals at 55:07 and 61:20 to tie the score 3-3, which is where the score remained through regulation.
  • SVSU won the game at the 96:29 mark with a goal by Kairo Coore.
