Men's Soccer Moves Back Into USC Regional Top 10

MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood men's soccer team moved back into the latest United Soccer Coaches (USC) Midwest regional rankings this week. The Timberwolves (5-2-4, 4-2-1) moved back to No. 10 and are one of four Great Midwest Athletic Conference (GMAC) members ranked top 10 in the fifth poll released Tuesday (Sep. 20).

Saginaw Valley (8-0-2), a team NU drew with on September 4, 3-3, is ranked No. 1, followed by Maryville (7-3-1) and Parkside (7-2-1). Other GMAC members, No. 5 Findlay (7-3-1), No. 6 Ashland (6-3-1), and No. 7 Tiffin (5-2-3) rounded out the GMAC in the top 10.

Northwood's 4-2 win over then No. 21 ranked Walsh on Saturday (Oct.1) pushed them back into this week's regional top 10.

The first official NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings will be rolled out later this season. 

Sixty-four teams will qualify for this year's NCAA Tournament, with the top eight teams from the Midwest Region earning a berth. Postseason action of the NCAA tournament will begin on November 10-13 with the first and second rounds on 16 different campuses across the United States. Games will be played at the higher seeds' respective campuses. 

This year's NCAA Championship final will be hosted by Seattle Pacific University at Interbay Stadium in Seattle, Washington on December 3.
