RECAP: The Northwood men's soccer team continued their homestand with a 2-0 shutout victory over the visiting Panthers from Ohio Dominican on Saturday (September 30). This was the Timberwolves first conference victory of the season.

GAME HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Timberwolves set the tone of the entire match as Oliver Jarvis and Amedeo Crovasce teamed up to put NU up 1-0 early in the eighth minute. Crovasce found space down the left side, dribbling to the left post, and weaving in and out of two ODU defenders. He would later find Jarvis just inside the left post as two dribbles later he scored in the lower right corner.
  • Jarvis' goal was his conference-leading seventh this season.
  • Although the Panthers would lead with shots taken throughout the contest, Northwood's defense continued to bend but never break. ODU had the advantage in total shots in the first half 8-4 and 12-5 in the second.
  • Chris Escalante was the benefactor in the 75' from Gjon Melakuqi's breakaway down the right side. His cross gave Escalante the ability to extend the lead to 2-0.
  • Robert Gjelaj continued to protect the goal throughout the contest, forcing the Panthers to be turned away time and time again. This ended up being his first and the team's first shutout of the season.
