Men's Tennis Claims 8-1 Win Over Grand Valley State

The Northwood University men's tennis team earned an important 8-1 win over Grand Valley State Saturday afternoon (April 6).

The match was a contest between the final two unbeaten teams in the GLIAC.  Northwood is now 8-4 overall, 6-0 in the GLIAC.  GVSU stands at 13-8 overall, 8-1 in the GLIAC.

Northwood earned a pair of quick wins at the top two flights of doubles to take an early lead.  NU then earned the sweep in doubles thanks to a 9-7 victory by Konstantin Zhukov and Samual Walendowsky in the No. 3 match.

The Timberwolves continued their strong play in singles, posting five straight-set victories.  GVSU earned their lone point in a super tiebreaker win at No. 2 singles.

Northwood will play another big match Tuesday (April 9) against second-place Ferris State.  First serve is set for Noon.
