Men's Tennis Advances To GLIAC Semifinals

The Northwood University men's tennis team opened the 2013 GLIAC Tournament with a 5-0 win over Findlay Friday night (April 19) in the quarterfinal round.

Northwood, the GLIAC Champion and top seed in the event, improves to 14-4 overall with the win.  Findlay, who is seeded eighth, falls to 7-12 with the loss.

Northwood started well in doubles, sweeping the matches to go up 3-0 heading into singles.  Needing only two wins to clinch the match, the Timberwolves earned straight-set wins at the No. 1 and No. 3 positions to clinch the match.

The Timberwolves will take on the winner of the match between Ohio Dominican and Grand Valley in the semifinals Saturday (April 20).  First serve is set for 3:45 p.m.
