Men's Tennis Sweeps Malone 9-0

MIDLAND, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team picked up a 9-0 win over Malone Saturday afternoon (April 12).

Northwood is now 12-3 overall, 8-1 in the GLIAC. NU remains one game ahead of Wayne State and Ferris State in the standings. Malone falls to 3-14 overall, 1-9 in the GLIAC.

The Timberwolves dominated doubles, dropping just one game in sweeping the matches to take a 3-0 lead. NU continued their strong play in singles, posting six straight-set victories.

On the day, Lorenzo Montegiorgi (Velletri, Italy), Salikh Gilmutdinov (Kazan, Russia), Konstantin Zhukov (Kazan, Russia) and Austin Woody (Midland, Mich./Dow) all went 2-0.

The Timberwolves will play an important match at Ferris State Thursday afternoon (April 17). First serve is set for 2 p.m.
