Milestone Victory - Colestock Reaches 900 Career Wins In 7-2 Win Over Lake Superior State

SAULT STE. MARIE, MICH. – The Northwood University men's tennis team earned head coach Zane Colestock a milestone victory in a 7-2 victory over Lake Superior State Saturday afternoon (April 23).

The victory was the 900th combined win for Colestock in his legendary 42-year career at Northwood. The Timberwolves head coach has now posted 601 wins on the men's side (601-170) and 299 victories on the women's side (299-57). His combined win total is one of the highest in the history of collegiate tennis. Colestock has won a combined 34 Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) championships and has been named the GLIAC Coach of the Year a total of 20 times.

Northwood is now 8-8 overall, 4-4 in the GLIAC. Lake Superior State 5-11, 1-7 in the GLIAC.

The Timberwolves started the day by winning two of the three doubles matches, earning victories at the No. 1 and No. 3 slots to go up 2-1 heading into singles. Once in singles, Northwood claimed five of the six matches to earn the overall victory.

On the day, Sebastian Eguez, Austin Woody and Konstantin Zhukov all went 2-0 to lead the way for Northwood.

The Timberwolves will look to earn Colestock's 901st victory of the season Sunday (April 24) at Michigan Tech. Match time is set for 10 a.m.
