Track Teams Compete At Spartan Invitational

The Northwood University track and field teams competed at the Spartan Invitational Saturday afternoon (April 6).

No team scoring was taken at the event, which was hosted by Michigan State University.  The meet was held at the Ralph Young Track.

On the men's side, Korvon Harris placed fifth out of 33 runners in the 100 with a time of 10.88.  Doug Lander clocked a 56.43 in the 400 meter hurdles to place seventh overall.  NU also got a strong performance in the 4X100 meter relay, as the team of Jalen Hodgson, Jacob Hurrell, Korvon Harris and Mike Ankoviak placed third overall with a time of 42.63. Jacob Squier was seventh in the javelin with a toss of 153-2

Madison Pines led the way for the women's team.  She clocked a 2:18.09 to place eighth out of 49 runners in the 800.  Six of the seven competitors who beat Pines were from Division I schools.

Northwood will host its lone home meet of the season, the Northwood Open, Saturday (April 13).
