Nate And Dillan Earn Track & Field First Team All-America Honors During Day One Of NCAA Championships

OVERVIEW 

MEET: NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

LOCATION: VIRGINIA BEACH, VA. – VIRGINIA BEACH SPORTS CENTER

RECAP: Dillan Haviland and Nathan Powers represented Timberwolves' track & field on day one of the NCAA Division II Indoor Track & Field Championships. Both athletes earned All-America honors with their performances.

INSIDE THE MEET 

  • Haviland advanced to the mile finals following his 4:07.51 finish in heat two of the men's mile prelims. Haviland looks to earn First Team All-America honors in the finals, finishing in the top eighth of the nine runners in the finals.
  • Powers also earned First Team All-America honors for his throws during the weight throw. Powers advanced to the finals with a 19.98m toss. Later in the finals, he took seventh with a 20.05m throw which marks Powers' second consecutive Indoor All-America honor of his career (19.91m - seventh (2021)).

UP NEXT

  • Zechariah Stickler (shot put) and Haviland (mile finals and 3000m) will each be back tomorrow (March 11) to compete for day two of the Championships. Stickler competes at 4:45 p.m. as Haviland runs in the mile finals at 4:35 p.m. followed by the 3000m at 6:10 p.m.
