Make It Three; Josh Jones Takes Home His Third G-MAC Athlete Of The Week Honor This Year

G-MAC ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

MIDLAND, MICH. - Josh Jones was named track athlete of the week by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this week, Monday (April 17). This is the third time this calendar year he has earned the award.

Jones set two new Northwood as well as G-MAC records during the 800m and 1500m races at the Bryan Clay Invitational at Azusa Pacific.

A massive weekend for the sophomore started with the 800m invite. Jones clocked a blazing 1:48.45 race, finishing 17th out of 135 racers. He holds the fifth-best DII time this season and the 26th-best in DII history.

Jones' teammate Dillan Haviland set the 1500m, G-MAC and NU record at 3:47.64 during his 1500m invite race, but that lasted about two hours before Jones made it, his.  His 3:46.69 mark is now the 19th-best in DII this season as both races cleared the NCAA provisional marks.

Northwood track & field is set to travel to Rochester, Mich. on Saturday (April 21-22) to compete at the Elaine Leigh Invitational at Oakland University.
