Garrett Rohlk joined the Northwood University track & field coaching staff in the fall of 2022 and began his tenure as Assistant Coach for the throws program for men's and women's programs. He was named Head Coach of the men’s and women’s track & field programs in September of 2023.

In his first year as head of the throws programs, his squad has had four athletes earn all-conference honors, two conference champions in indoor and outdoor shot put, including a sweep of the podium finishes during the men’s shot put at the 2023 G-MAC Outdoor Championships, and two NCAA indoor qualifiers.

Rohlk comes to Midland following a three-year stint at Missouri Western State University (MWSU) from 2019-2022 as a graduate assistant and assistant coach. Rohlk graduated from MWSU in 2022 with two Master's degrees in Sport and Fitness Management and Business Administration. As the men's and women’s throws coach, Rohlk's athletes had much success including a first-team all-american, two second-team all-americans, two conference championships, four national qualifiers, eleven NCAA Division II qualifying marks, and his athletes hold eleven of the 12 school throwing records.

He received his undergrad from Buena Vista University in Storm Lake, IA (2014-18), and was a member of the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC). During his time there, he broke two school records in the weight and hammer as well as a six-time scorer in IIAC meets. Academically, he was a two-time IIAC Academic All-Conference and one-time USTFCCCA Academic All-American. He was also the recipient of the BVU Male athlete of the year in 2018.
