Cross Country Teams Travel To Greater Louisville Classic
LOUISVILLE, KY. – Member of the Northwood University cross country teams traveled to the 2015 Greater Louisville Cross Country Classic hosted by the Louisville Sports Commission. The meet took place at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. On Saturday (October 3).
Senior Jenny Frantz (Ovid, Mich. / Ovid-Elsie) represented the women's team in Kentucky. Frantz ran 19:12.08 for a 13th place finish. Her time is also the seventh best in school history and best of the season in the 5k.
On the men's side, senior Sammy Tanui (Eldoret, Kenya) took 125th with a time of 26:49.34 to lead the Timberwolves. Junior Will Moench (Holland, Mich. / West Ottawa) ran 26:57.77 to finish 144th. Junior Tyler Jenson (Ovid, Mich. / Ovid-Elsie) ran 27:22.20 and freshman Josh Plischke clocked 27:39.12. Also competing for Northwood was Nick Kaufmann (Hemlock, Mich. / Hemlock) and Michael Todd (Mt. Pleasant, Mich. / Mt. Pleasant).
The Timberwolves host the annual Northwood Invite next weekend. The meet will be held at Currie Golf Course on Saturday (October 10). For more information CLICK HERE.
