Cross Country Teams Compete At MSU Spartan Invitational
OVERVIEW – MSU SPARTAN INVITE
LOCATION: East Lansing, Mich. – Michigan State University
RECAP: The Northwood University cross country teams competed at the MSU Spartan Invite Friday afternoon (September 13).
INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed 21st out of 26 teams with 633 points.
- Michigan State was the overall winner with 16 points, followed by Grand Valley State at 68.
- A total of 291 runners competed in the race, with Jeralyn Poe of Michigan State coming out on top (21:12.5).
NORTHWOOD RESULTS:
- Lainey Veenkant – 77th overall: 23:43.0 (first career 6K collegiate race)
- Katherine Wozniak – 199th: 26:17.8
- Amanda Aquinaga – 213th: 26:42.8
- Madison Brooks – 223rd: 27:12.0
- Amanda Kalkman – 254th: 28:51.0
INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed 13th out of 23 teams with a score of 421.
- Michigan State won the event with 48 points, with Grand Valley State (72) placing second.
- A total of 326 runners competed in the race. Morgan Beadlescomb was the winner at 24:24.9

- Eric Poth – 84th: 26:50.0
- Seth Schafer – 138th: 27:37.6 (first career 8K collegiate race)
