Zane Aldrich Earns First Team All-GLIAC Honors As Cross Country Competes At GLIAC Championships
OVERVIEW – GLIAC CHAMPIONSHIPS
LOCATION: SVSU Cross Country Course – University Center, Mich.
RECAP: Highlighted by Zane Aldrich, the Northwood University cross country teams took part in the GLIAC Championships Saturday afternoon (October 23).
INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed 10th overall in the women's event with a team score of 293.
- Grand Valley State was the winner of the event with 15 points, followed Saginaw Valley (63) and Wayne State (97).
- A total of 10 teams and 110 runners competed in the race. Hannah Becker of Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 22:04.3
NORTHWOOD RESULTS:
- Kameron Haag – 56th overall: 24:53.0
- Lainey Veenkant – 73rd: 25:36.4
- Avery Stadt – 75th: 25:38.4
- Amanda Kalkman – 100th: 28:20.5
- Molly Kitson – 101st: 28:44.0
INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)
- Northwood finished fifth overall with 139 points.
- That finish matches the fifth place finish from 2018, which was the best for the program since a third place showing in 1999.
- Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 25 points, followed by Michigan Tech at 76 and Wayne State at 82.
- A total of 24 teams and 102 runners competed in the race. Isaac Harding of Grand Valley State was the winner at 24:35.6
