Zane Aldrich Highlights Cross Country Programs Competing at NCAA Regional Championships
OVERVIEW – NCAA MIDWEST REGIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS
LOCATION: Angel Mounts – Evansville, Ind.
RECAP: Zane Aldrich becomes the third individual runner in Northwood cross country to qualify for the NCAA Championships as NUXC competes at the Midwest Regional Championships Saturday (November 6).
INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed 27th overall in the women's event with a team score of 753.
- Grand Valley State was the winner of the event with 40 points, followed by Southern Indiana (110) and Cedarville (137)
- A total of 34 teams and 216 runners competed in the race. Hannah Becker of Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 22:04.3
NORTHWOOD RESULTS:
- Kameron Haag – 121st overall: 23:33.7
- Avery Stadt – 130th: 23:43.2
- Lainey Veenkant – 131st: 23:45.1
- Katherine Wozniak – 185th: 26:36.2
- Amanda Kalkman – 186th: 26:38.5
- Molly Kitson – 187th: 26:51.1
INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (10,000 METERS)
- Northwood placed 10th overall with 327 points
- Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 49 points, followed by Lewis (118) and Walsh (135)
- A total of 31 teams and 208 runners competed in the race. Carlee Stimpfel of Saginaw Valley was the overall winner at 30:02.6

- Zane Aldrich – Third overall – 30:09.0. NCAA National Qualifier. First Team All-Region. School record by nearly a minute (old record was 31:04 by Jon Hodge from 2006). Third fastest time in the history of the course
- Brandon Boyd – 59th: 32:15.2
- Dillan Haviland – 64th: 32:23.5
- Josiah Morse – 88th: 32:57.0
- Josh Jones – 113th: 33:31.5
- Preston Earl – 139th: 34:07.7
- Parker Hayes – 147th: 34:20.9
NORTHWOOD NOTES
- Aldrich joins Jon Hodge (2006) and Brian Patrick (2018) as Northwood individuals who have qualified for the NCAA Championships. Patrick placed 36th in 2018 while Hodge placed 59th in 2006.
