Men's Cross Country Wins The Warrior Challenge As Teams Race In New Boston

OVERVIEW – Warrior Challenge

LOCATION: Willow Park – New Boston, Michigan

RECAP: Northwood men's and women's cross country competed at the Warrior Challenge Saturday (October 22).

INSIDE THE WOMEN'S RACE (6,000 METERS)

  • Northwood placed 12th out of 14 schools with 269 points ahead of two GMAC schools Tiffin and Ursuline.
  • Rachael Sierakowski led the Timberwolves jumping into the top-25 all-time list for the 6K.

NORTHWOOD RESULTS:

 

INSIDE THE MEN'S RACE (8,000 METERS)

  • Northwood would win the meet with 59 points defeating Midwest foes and nationally ranked #21 Michigan Tech, #27 Parkside, #29 Wayne State (Mich.), as well as Saginaw Valley State and Division I, Toledo. 
  • Northwood's Zane Aldrich ran his best race of the season, finishing 10th and being one of two Timberwolves to finish in the top 10.
  • Five blue and white runners finish in the top 25 to help with an average time of 25:33 for Northwood's top five runners.
  • The Timberwolves seek to jump back into the national rankings this week.
