RECAP: Northwood uses a pair of complete-game victories from Vanessa Ewing to sweep Tiffin by the scores of 1-0 and 4-2 Sunday afternoon (April 23).

GAME 1 HIGHLIGHTS

• Northwood scored the lone run of the game in the third inning. Courtney Wensley opened the inning with a walk and was pinch ran for by Jordyn Look. Look later scored on an RBI single by Andria Gietl.
• Both teams had chances the rest of the way but were unable to score.
• Tiffin's best chance to score came in the bottom of the fifth inning, when they had a runner on third with nobody out. Northwood ended the threat, however, when the runner attempted to score on a wild pitch and was thrown out at the plate.

GAME 2 HIGHLIGHTS

• After the pitcher's duel in game one, Northwood's offense got off to a fast start in game two. The Timberwolves plated a pair in the first thanks to a two-run single by Torriya Gray-Baker that scored Riley Ostapowicz and Hayley D'Avilar.
• The Timberwolves extended their lead in the bottom second inning with two more runs. It was Gietl coming through again for NU, plating a pair with a single.
• After holding Tiffin scoreless for 11 innings on the day, Ewing allowed her first runs of the day in the top of the fifth inning. The Dragons plated a pair in the frame to cut the margin down to 4-2.
• Those runs proved to be the last of the day for either team. Ewing allowed just one single over the final two innings to close out her second victory of the day.
