Softball Drops GLIAC Doubleheader At Purdue Northwest

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS
- After a scoreless first inning, Maddie Coulter broke the tie and got Northwood on the board with an RBI double, followed by Julia Gross's RBI single to score Coulter for the early 2-0 lead in the second.
- The Timberwolves tacked on another run when Lauren Castellon took advantage of a wild pitch and stole home.
- Purdue Northwest responded with three runs of their on in the bottom of the fourth to tie the game at three runs each.
- What turned out to be Northwood's last run of the game, Abby Joseph had a leadoff home run in the top of the fifth to give the Timberwolves their final lead of the game at 4-3.
- It was all Purdue Northwest the final few innings, after plating two runs in the fifth and four runs in the sixth. The Pride had two 1-2-3 innings to close out the game and earn the 9-4 victory.
- Northwood registered eight hits from six different Timberwolves – Coulter, J. Gross (2), Sydni Pauley, Joseph, Danielle Bartodziej (2) and Castellon.

GAME TWO HIGHLIGHTS
- Purdue Northwest jumped on the board early in the first inning with two run-scoring RBIs, then added another pair of runs in the bottom of the third to go up 4-0.
- In the top of the fourth, Northwood got their lone run on the board. Pauley set up the play on a double, followed up by a Chase Schultz RBI double to easily score Pauley.
- The Pride responded in the bottom of the fourth with a trio of runs to give themselves the 7-1 lead, then ending the game in the sixth with two more runs for the 9-1 win.
