RECAP: Northwood softball extends winning streak to four with a pair of wins in Kentucky Friday afternoon (February 26), downing Trevecca Nazarene 4-2 before defeating Lake Erie 13-1 in five innings.

TREVECCA NAZARENE HIGHLIGHTS

  • The Trojans got on the board first in the top of the third inning on an error to go up 1-0
  • Northwood leveled the score in the bottom of the fourth on an RBI single by Haley Frank.
  • Trevecca bounced right back in the top of the fifth with a run to go back on top 2-1.
  • NU responded with the key rally of the game in the bottom of the fifth, starting with a run on an error to level the score 2-2.
  • Shayna Frank added an RBI on a fielder's choice to give Northwood their first lead of the day at 3-2.
  • Delanie Grundman added an insurance run with an RBI single to make the final 4-2.

  • Northwood set the tone for the game in the top of the first inning by scoring three runs, starting with a Grace Dutoi bases loaded walk to make the score 1-0.
  • Delanie Grudman made it 3-0 on a two-run double that scored Tara and Julia Gross.
  • Lauren Castellon added to the lead in the third on a two-run single, which was followed by a Storm error that made the score 7-0.
  • Lake Erie got one back in the bottom of the third inning, only to see Northwood put the game away in the top of the fourth. Karlie Moore started the scoring in the inning with a two-run double.
  • After a Samantha Slick RBI groundout, NU added runs on a wild pitch and an error to push the advantage to 12-1.
  • Emily Mankel rounded out the scoring with an RBI single.
  • NU held the Storm off the board in the fourth and the fifth to end the game.
