Softball Defeats Madonna 14-4 - NU Extends Win Streak To Seven

SCORES: Northwood Timberwolves 14, Madonna Crusaders 4 (Five Innings)

MADONNA HIGHLIGHTS
- Northwood got off to a good start, going up 2-0 in the first inning. Haley Frank started the scoring with a sacrifice fly.
- Mikayla Gronback made it 2-0 with an RBI single later in the first inning.
- In the third, NU expanded their lead, starting with a Delanie Grundman RBI single.
- Lauren Castellon made it 5-0 in the third with a two-run double.
- The Crusaders got a pair of runs back in the bottom of third, making the score 5-2 after three innings.
- NU got both of those runs back right away thanks to Grace Dutoi. Her two-run homer in the top of the fourth put the Timberwolves up 7-2.
- After an unearned run in the fourth for Madonna made the score 7-3, Northwood broke the game open in the top of the fifth. The big hit of the game came from Maddie Coulter, whose grand slam got the lead up to 11-3.
- The Timberwolves added two more on a wild pitch/error combo from Madonna to make the score 13-3.
- Samantha Slick then made it 14-3 with an RBI double to finish off the seven-run fifth inning.
- The Crusaders got one back in the fifth to round out the scoring.
