RECAP: Northwood softball traveled to Clermont, Fla. for their annual spring break trip. Following their first off-day of the week, the Timberwolves would fall to Notre Dame (Ohio) in game one, 0-2, followed by a shutout win of Seton Hill, 4-0, in game two.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

  • Northwood's offense struggled through the first five innings. Haley Frank led off the third and fifth innings with doubles to left center and center. In either inning, Northwood would not be able to score Frank from second.
  • Later in the fifth, NDC's three straight singles gave the Falcons the 0-2 advantage, forcing a Northwood pitching change.
  • In the sixth, baserunning cost Northwood another opportunity to score. A blooper down the right field line confused runners on the basepaths allowing NDC to catch two NU runners in a rundown and ending the two-on, one-out threat.
  • The Timberwolves would not score in the seventh, getting shutout by the Falcons, 0-2 NDC.
