RECAP: Northwood softball played the Pioneers of Malone Friday (April 7). The doubleheader would end in a series split, 1-1. Northwood took game one 4-0 before falling in game two 0-1.

GAME ONE HIGHLIGHTS

• Quick innings were the story of the game, through two and a half innings only three baserunners were aboard for either team.
• In the bottom of the third, Lauren Bennett got the offense going with a single start the third. Haley Frank singled to right to move Bennett to third two batters later. Delanie Gales then smoked a liner over the center fielder's head to score both runners, 2-0 NU.
• In back-to-back innings, the Timberwolves led off the inning with a single, this time by Gianna Fantin. Madison Jordan followed with a single before Bennett moved both runners to another base. Jillian Krawczak's single up the middle added two more to the Timby lead, 4-0 NU.
• Hailey Leister was on her game again today, throwing a complete game, one-hit shutout to earn her 15th win of the year and her sixth shutout.
