Softball Appears Under Consideration In Initial Midwest Regional Rankings
FULL DIVISION II SOFTBALL REGIONAL RANKINGS
MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood softball team is under consideration for the 2023 NCAA DII Softball Tournament. In the initial regional rankings, the Timberwolves (26-17, 10-6) are listed as one of 10 teams under consideration for the NCAA Midwest regional tournament.
The region's top eight teams will be paired off into two double-elimination tournaments, held on campus sites May 11-13. The winners of two sub-brackets will advance to face off in a best-of-three Super Regional May 18-19 to determine the Midwest's representative at the 2022 NCAA Softball Championships, held in Chattanooga, Tenn. on May 25-31.
At the time that rankings were made, the Timberwolves sit at 26-17 overall and 23-14 against Midwest region opponents.
Other Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) members Trevecca Nazarene (29-11) and Ohio Dominican (23-16) were also listed among the teams under consideration.
Northwood is set to host a home doubleheader versus Wayne St. (Mich.) Thursday (April 19) at 3 p.m. and 5 p.m. at Fisher Stadium in Midland.
The NCAA selection show is set for May 8 at 10 a.m. ET.
