Softball Earns No. 6 seed in G-MAC Tournament, Will Face No. 3 Trevecca On Wednesday (May 3)

MIDLAND, MICH. - The Northwood softball team will make its first-ever appearance in the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) Tournament Wednesday (May 3). The Timberwolves (33-22, 15-9 G-MAC) are seeded No. 6 and will No. 3 Trevecca Nazarene (32-14, 16-6 G-MAC) in the first round.

The 2023 G-MAC Championship will be held May 3-6 at Marathon Diamonds, located in Findlay, Ohio. Live coverage for the championship will be available on the Great Midwest Digital Network.

Northwood versus Trevecca is scheduled on Iriti Field at 2:30 p.m. with the winner advancing to play the winner of No. 2 Hillsdale and No. 7 Ashland. The tournament features the top eight teams based on win percentage in a double-elimination bracket format.

Both teams met once this year, back on April 1 in Nashville, with both teams splitting the series. The Timberwolves would fall in game one, 1-7, before taking game two, 10-6.

Trevecca's four titles currently pace the conference, followed by Hillsdale and Ohio Dominican with two apiece. Ohio Dominican earned its second straight title in 2022, defeating Trevecca Nazarene in a thrilling 2-1 final.

The tournament will feature the top eight teams based on win percentage in a double-elimination bracket. A copy of the G-MAC tournament bracket can be found here.
