Ziel Earns Her Second G-MAC Athlete Of The Week Honor This Season

MIDLAND, MICH. - Ashley Ziel was named softball athlete of the week by the Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) this week, Monday (May 1). This is the second Athlete of the Week honor she has earned this season.

Ziel slugged for a .429 (6-14) average including two doubles, a home run, and six RBI. In game one against Findlay (4/29), the Caro, Mich. native went 2-3 with a double and her G-MAC-leading ninth home run of the year. She also drew five walks to up her OBP at .571.

Northwood softball is currently 33-22 overall and 15-9 in the G-MAC and is set to make its first G-MAC softball tournament appearance as the No.6 seed this Wednesday versus No. 3 seed Trevecca Nazarene.
