Softball Appears At No. 8 In Latest NCAA Midwest Regional Rankings
MIDLAND, MICH. - In the latest NCAA Midwest regional rankings (May 3), the Northwood softball team appeared at No. 8. The Timberwolves (33-22, 15-9 G-MAC) are one of three Great Midwest Athletic Conference (G-MAC) in the rankings.
Overall, Indianapolis (47-6) came in as the No.1 seed, followed by Grand Valley St. (38-4), No. 2, and Saginaw Valley St. (31-14), No. 3. Other G-MAC members in the rankings include No. 6 Ohio Dominican (33-18) and No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene (32-14).
The region's top eight teams will be paired off into two double-elimination tournaments, held on campus sites May 11-13. The winners of two sub-brackets will advance to face off in a best-of-three Super Regional May 18-19 to determine the Midwest's representative at the 2022 NCAA Softball Championships, held in Chattanooga, Tenn. on May 25-31.
Northwood softball plays in the 2023 G-MAC Championships Wednesday (May 3) versus Midwest No. 9 Trevecca Nazarene in a pivotal regional matchup. The first-round game is set for 4:30 p.m. on the Iriti Field of Marathon Diamonds in Findlay, Ohio.
The NCAA selection show is set for May 8 at 10 a.m. ET.
