Track & Field Sends Seven Athletes To Compete At The Jud Logan Lightgiver Open

OVERVIEW 

MEET: THIRD JUD LOGAN LIGHT GIVER OPEN

LOCATION: ASHLAND – ASHLAND, OHIO

RECAP: Northwood track & field sent seven athletes to compete at the Third Jud logan Light Giver Open this weekend (February 2-3).

INSIDE THE MEET

FOR THE MEN

  • Sebastian Tesch moved into second all-time for NU's weight throw event, eclipsing the 20m mark for the first time during the men's weight throw elite event. Tesch wound up taking fifth with a 20.12m NCAA Provo toss.
  • Will Nemecek took silver in the men's shot put elite. His 17.11m throw cleared the NCAA Provo mark.
  • Luke Eros finished a centimeter under the 17m mark for the weight throw Friday, taking eighth at 16.99m. 
  • Blake Vier took eighth during the 60m hurdle finals. His 8.15 qualifying mark was an NCAA Provo mark just ahead of his finals finish at 8.20. His teammate Matheu Morrison ran an 8.25 60m hurdle during prelims. On Friday, Morrison (22.71) and Blake Vier (23.15) took on the 200m race. 

FOR THE WOMEN

  • Emily Stinson (15.15m) and Kelsey Hansen (15.11m) finished 14th and 15th respectively in the women's weight throw. The two were Northwood's only women to compete at the meet.
  • Hansen took sixth with a 13.5m toss during Saturday's women's shot put elite event.
  • Stinson's 11.69m throw during the shot put event gave her a 14th place finish.
