Haviland, Nemecek, And Tesch Earn All-America Honors For Men's Track & Field At 2024 Indoor Championships

OVERVIEW 

MEET: 2024 DII NCAA INDOOR CHAMPIONSHIPS

LOCATION: PITTSBURG ST. – PITTSBURG, KAN.

RECAP: Northwood track & field's Dillan Haviland, Will Nemecek, and Sebastian Tesch all earned All-America honors during the 2024 DII Indoor Championships on Friday and Saturday (March 8-9).

INSIDE THE MEET

DAY 1 - FRIDAY RESULTS

• Haviland capped off his second DII Indoor Championships with a 12^th place finish after the men's mile prelims. His 4:12.75 time in heat one gave him Second Team All-America honors. Haviland is now a two-time DII All-American for the men's indoor mile (placed fourth at the 2023 NCAA DII Indoor Championships).
• Tesch finished his indoor championships, taking 11^th overall during the men's weight throw with a 19.99m toss. Tesch finishes his indoor season as a Second Team All-America honoree, taking 11^th as the No. 16 seed coming into the event.

DAY 2 – SATURDAY RESULTS

• Will Nemecek set a new personal best in the shot put en route to his first career All-America honor. His second throw hit a personal best, 17.48m, which earned him three extra throws, advancing to the shot put finals. Nemecek took full advantage of the three tosses, hitting  17.50m on his final attempt to move himself into eighth and earn First Team All-America honors.
