Women's Basketball Picked Fourth In GLIAC - Nurenberg Named Preseason All-GLIAC

2016-17 GLIAC Preseason Coaches' Poll

BAY CITY, MICH. – The Northwood University women's basketball team was picked to finish fourth in the North Division in the Great Lakes Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (GLIAC) Preseason Coaches' Poll, which was released by the league Thursday (October 27).

Northwood finished with 32 points in in the poll. Grand Valley State was picked as the favorite in the North with 47 points, followed by Saginaw Valley State (45) and Michigan Tech (35).

Ashland was picked as the favorite in the South Division with 36 points with Walsh (28) and Ohio Dominican (25) voted second and third, respectively.

In addition to the coaches' poll, the league announced the coaches' preseason All-GLIAC teams were announced. Northwood was represented with senior Jordyn Nurenberg, who averaged 17.3 points and 10.7 rebounds per game while leading the country in double-doubles (22) last season.

Northwood will travel to Michigan State Thursday night (October 27) for an exhibition contest at 7 p.m. The Timberwolves will open regular season play November 11 against Saint Joseph's at 6 p.m.
