Women's Basketball Earns 75-70 Road Win At Davenport

SCORE: Northwood Timberwolves 75, Davenport Panthers 70

RECAP: Led by Alli Keyser, Northwood women's basketball uses a big second half to earn 75-70 win at Davenport Thursday night (February 13).
FIRST QUARTER
- The opening quarter saw both offenses struggle in the evenly-played frame.
- The biggest lead in the quarter for either team was two points, which ended with the score tied 11-11.
- The Timberwolves were just 4-18 (22.2 percent) overall while going 1-11 from the 3-point line (9.1 percent).
- Davenport was 5-11 from the floor (45.5 percent) while missing both of their 3-point attempts.
SECOND QUARTER
- Much like the opening 10 minutes, the second quarter proved to be very close.
- The biggest lead for either prior to the final minute was three points.
- With the score tied 23-23, the Panthers connected on a pair of 3-pointers to take a 29-23 lead at the break.
- Northwood was 5-15 from the floor in the quarter (33.3 percent) and missed both of its 3-point attempts.
- DU also made five field goals in the frame, going 5-13 (38.5 percent). The Panthers earned the edge by going 3-5 from 3-point range.
THIRD QUARTER
- After struggling in the first half, the Northwood offense made big turnaround starting in the third quarter.
- NU made one 3-pointer in the first half, but came out and knocked down their first three attempts of the second half to go on top 34-31.
- Davenport also picked up their offense in the quarter and eventually took a 51-48 lead into the fourth.
- The Timberwolves ended the third with 25 points thanks to going 8-12 from the floor (66.7 percent) and 5-7 from 3-point range (71.4 percent).
- DU also had a good quarter in the third, finishing with 22 points thanks to going 10-17 overall (58.8 percent).
FOURTH QUARTER
- The Timberwolves made the key run of the game with the score tied 54-54 with seven minutes remaining.
- Northwood scored 11 of the next 13 points less than three minutes to take their biggest lead of the night at 65-56.
- DU responded with six straight points of their own before an Alli Keyser 3-poniters put the game away.
- NU went 7-16 from the floor in the fourth (43.8 percent) overall while making 4-11 from 3-point range (36.4 percent).
- Northwood stepped up at the foul line in the fourth, going 9-10 (90.0 percent).
- The Panthers ended the fourth at 46.7 percent overall (7-15) but missed all three of their 3-point attempts.

NORTHWOOD NOTES
- Keyser's 28 points are the most for a Northwood player this season
- This marked the first time this season that the Timberwolves came back for a win after trailing at halftime. NU was 0-10 when losing at the break prior to the win versus Davenport.
