Women's Basketball Earns 64-60 Comeback Overtime Road Win At Indianapolis
OVERVIEW – INDIANAPOLIS
SCORE: Northwood Timberwolves 64, Indianapolis Greyhounds 60 (OT)

FIRST QUARTER
- The Timberwolves started the game well, as Alana Nelson connected on two 3-pointers on NU's first three possessions to go up 6-0.
- UINDY was the better team the remainder of the opening quarter, eventually taking a 16-11 lead after one.
- Northwood struggled from the floor – after going 2-3 to start, the Timberwolves went just 1-14 the remainder of the quarter to finish at 17.6 percent overall (3-17)
- Indianapolis ended the first at 46.2 percent (6-13).
SECOND QUARTER
- Nelson kept the Timberwolves in the game into the second quarter – with 6:48 remaining in the quarter, she had 15 of NU's 18 points and all five of the Timberwolves field goals.
- Her basket at the 6:48 mark started a drought for the offense, as the Timberwolves were held scoreless for 4:32.
- UINDY out-scored Northwood 12-0 in that stretch to go up 31-20.
- The Greyhounds led by as many as 14 before settling for a 34-22 lead at halftime.
- NU made two field goals late in the quarter to get their field goal percentage up to 33.3 percent in the second (4-12)
- Indianapolis ended the second at 35.3 percent (6-17).
THIRD QUARTER
- After scoring just 22 points in the first half, the Timberwolves offense got rolling in the third quarter.
- NU scored the first six points of the third and chipped away at the lead throughout, eventually tying the game at 43-43.
- The Timberwolves then took the lead briefly before the score was tied 45-45 heading to the fourth.
- Northwood more than doubled their point total from the first half in the third quarter alone, scoring 23 points while going 10-16 from the floor (62.5 percent).
- UINDY fell back to 30.8 percent from the floor in the third (4-13).
FOURTH QUARTER
- The final quarter was tight throughout – the largest lead for either team was two points in the final 10 minutes.
- NU tied the game at 55-55 with 2:17 remaining, which proved to be the final points of regulation.
- Northwood was just 5-18 from the floor in the fourth (27.8 percent), but went 12-15 from the foul line (80.0 percent).
- Indianapolis ended the fourth with the same field goal percentage as Northwood – 27.8 percent (5-18). But the Greyhounds were just 1-5 from the foul line in the quarter.
OVERTIME
- After the two teams went back and forth early in the extra period, Northwood took the lead for good on an Ellie Taylor layup with 2:48 remaining.
- NU's defense got the stops the rest of the way, holding Indianapolis to just one point over the final three minutes of the game.
- The Timberwolves went 3-4 from the foul line in the final nine seconds to close out the win.
- Neither team shot well in overtime – Northwood went 2-6 from the floor (33.3 percent) and 4-6 from the foul line (66.7 percent).
- UINDY went 2-9 from the floor (22.2 percent), 0-5 from 3-point range and 1-4 from the foul line (25.0 percent).
