Women's Basketball Earns 85-78 Road Win At Parkside

FIRST QUARTER
- Northwood struggled to take care of the ball early in the game, committing seven turnovers in the opening 6:20 of the game.
- The Rangers were unable to take advantage of the opportunities, however, as UWP led just 9-8 at that point.
- Parkside did eventually lead by as many as five in the first before settling for an 8-15 lead after one.
- Northwood ended the first quarter shooting 42.9 percent from the floor, going 6-14 overall. NU missed all five of their 3-point attempts but did make 3-4 from the foul line.
- Parkside was 7-16 from the floor in the first (43.8 percent). The Rangers were 2-5 from the 3-point line and 2-2 on free throws.
SECOND QUARTER
- The Timberwolves got their offense rolling in the second, taking their first lead of the quarter at 30-29.
- NU led by as many as four late before a Parkside 3-pointer as time expired made the Northwood lead 41-40 at halftime.
- After seven turnovers in the opening 6:20, Northwood had just two in the second quarter while shooting 61.5 percent from the floor (8-13). The Timberwolves were 2-7 from the 3-point line and 8-10 from the foul line on their way to 26 points in the second.
- Parkside also shot the ball well in the second, making 9-15 overall (60.0 percent). They were 2-5 from the 3-point line and 2-2 from the foul line.
THIRD QUARTER
- Northwood was the better team in the third quarter and used an 11-4 run to open up the first double-digit lead of the game at 64-54.
- The Rangers cut the lead to six at 66-60 at the end of the quarter.
- The Timberwolves continued to shoot the ball well in the third, ending at 60.0 percent overall (9-15). NU was 5-8 from 3-point range and 2-2 from the foul line.
- Parkside struggled from the floor in the third, making 4-15 overall. The Rangers stayed close thanks to going 10-10 from the foul line in the quarter.
FOURTH QUARTER
- Northwood maintained the lead throughout the final quarter.
- The lead got to 11 at 78-67, but the Rangers scored five straight points to get within six at 78-72 with 1:29 remaining.
- Northwood finished the game strong, going 5-6 from the foul line and converting a layup on their final four possessions of the game to close out the victory.
- The Timberwolves fell back to 35.7 percent from the floor in the fourth, making 5-14 overall. NU went 2-8 from the 3-point line and 7-9 from the foul line.
- Parkside was 7-15 from the floor in the fourth, good for 46.7 percent overall. The Rangers were 1-6 from the 3-point line and 3-4 from the foul line.
