FIRST QUARTER

  • Purdue Northwest's offense was the story of the majority of the opening half and they started fast, making four of their first five shots to go up 11-4.
  • The Pride led by as many as nine in the first quarter before a late run made the NU deficit 24-19 after one.
  • Northwood 7-16 overall in the quarter, good for 43.8 percent. NU was 3-7 from the 3-point line and 2-2 at the foul line.
  • Purdue Northwest ended the opening quarter shooting 75.0 percent, making 9-12 overall. The Pride went 4-5 from the 3-point line and 2-4 at the foul line.

SECOND QUARTER

  • PNW's hot shooting continued into the second quarter, eventually making 14 of their first 18 shots for the game while connecting on six of their first eight three pointers.
  • That allowed the Pride to get their lead to 12 at 36-24.
  • Northwood's defense stepped up at that point, holding Purdue Northwest scoreless for 6:06.
  • NU's run ended being 10-0 in that stretch to get back within two before the Pride led 39-35 at the break.
  • The Timberwolves finished the quarter shooting 46.2 percent (6-13). Northwood went 2-3 from beyond the 3-point arc and 2-4 at the foul line.
  • Despite the scoring drought, the Pride still ended the second at 50.0 percent (6-12). They were 3-6 from the 3-point line while not attempting a free throw.

THIRD QUARTER

  • Northwood chipped away at the lead throughout the third quarter, eventually tying the score 49-49.
  • A late basket by PNW made the score 51-49 heading to the final quarter.
  • Both teams struggled shooting in the third – Northwood was 3-12 overall (25.0 percent) and missed all three of their free throw attempts. NU did have a good quarter at the foul line, making 8-10 overall.
  • The Pride were 5-13 in the third, good for 38.5 percent. They were 0-2 from the 3-point line and 2-2 at the foul line.

FOURTH QUARTER

  • Northwood dominated the fourth quarter, taking the lead for good after scoring on their first two possessions of the period to go up 53-51.
  • The Timberwolves eventually scored the first 11 points and 18 of the first 22 points to go up 67-55.
  • The lead grew to as many as 14 in the fourth. The Pride got no closer than eight in the final five minutes of the game.
  • Northwood had their best offensive quarter in the final period of the game, going 8-15 overall (53.3 percent). The Timberwolves were 2-7 from the 3-point line and 8-11 at the foul line.
  • Purdue Northwest fell back to 31.3 percent in the fourth (5-16). The Pride were 1-7 from the 3-point line and 5-6 on free throws.
