Women's Basketball Earns Senior Day Win Over Parkside 96-91

FIRST QUARTER

  • Northwood's offense set the tone for the day early in the first quarter, scoring 13 points in the opening 2:32 of the game.
  • A 14-0 NU run put the Timberwolves up 24-10 on their way to a 31-19 lead after one.
  • Northwood was 11-22 from the floor in the first quarter, good for 50.0 percent. The Timberwolves were 3-8 from the 3-point line and 6-7 at the foul line.
  • Parkside ended the opening quarter shooting 30.8 percent overall (4-13). The Rangers were just 2-8 from the 3-point line but did make 9-10 from the foul line.

SECOND QUARTER

  • Parkside played better in the second quarter and cut into the Timberwolves lead.

THIRD QUARTER

  • Parkside came out strong in the third quarter, cutting the lead to 56-55 less than two minutes in.
  • The Rangers took the lead at 65-64, but the Timberwolves finished the quarter strong to take a 79-72 lead heading to the final quarter.
  • Both teams had big quarter on offense in the third, scoring 27 points each. The Rangers were 11-17 overall (64.7) while making 4-7 from 3-point range and connecting on their only free throw attempt.
  • Northwood was 8-14 from the floor in the third (57.1 percent) overall. NU was 3-5 from the 3-point line and 8-8 at the foul line.

FOURTH QUARTER

  • Northwood got their lead to 10 in the fourth, but the Rangers hung around.
  • An 8-1 push from UWP made the score 88-85 with under three minutes remaining.
  • That is as close as the Rangers would get, however, as Northwood held the lead the rest of the game to earn the victory.
