RECAP: Women's Basketball earns hard-fought 73-68 win over Lake Superior State Saturday (November 12).

GAME STORY

  • Lake Superior State scored the opening points 19 seconds into the game and led the remainder of the first half.
  • The Lakers held an 18-15 lead at the end of the first quarter. NU struggled from the 3-point line in the quarter, going just 1-6 overall.
  • LSSU expanded their lead to 24-15 with 7:37 remaining in the second quarter, which proved to match their biggest of the opening half.
  • The lead stood at 28-19 when Northwood put up seven straight points to get back within two with 3:09 remaining.
  • Lake Superior State eventually held a 33-30 lead at the break. Northwood ended the opening 20 minutes making 2-15 from 3-point range.
  • The Timberwolves got the lead down to one early in the third quarter, but the Lakers continued to keep the lead the remainder of the frame. LSSU's was on top 48-43 heading to the fourth quarter.
  • Northwood set the tone for the fourth quarter right away, scoring seven of the first nine points to tie the score 50-50.
  • NU finally took their first lead of the game with 4:55 remaining at 61-59.
