Women's Basketball Drops Tough 74-71 Contest To Indianapolis

RECAP: Indianapolis makes the key plays down the stretch to earn a 74-71 win over Northwood women's basketball Saturday night (November 19).
GAME STORY
- Northwood started the game well, holding an 11-4 lead less than five minutes into the game.
- UINDY fought back to tie the score at 13-13.
- Both offenses ended up having a strong first quarter, as the score eventually stood at 22-22 after one.
- The Greyhounds were the better team in the second quarter, taking the lead for the remainder of the half at the 8:04 mark (25-24).
- Indianapolis led by as many as 11 in the quarter before settling for a 39-30 lead at halftime.
- The third quarter featured runs for both teams, first by Northwood. NU got within two at 47-45 with 4:35 remaining.
- UINDY responded with 10 straight points to take a 57-45 lead, the biggest of the day.
- NU did score the final five points of the quarter to make the score 57-50 heading to the fourth.
- The Timberwolves came back to tie the game at 61-61 with 5:36 remaining.
- Northwood also tied the score at 64-64, 66-66, 68-68 and 70-70 but were not able to take the lead in the fourth.
- NU trailed by two with the ball in the final seconds but were unable to find the tying basket. UINDY then went 1-2 from the foul line to close out the game.
