GAME STORY
- Northwood scored six straight points early on to go up 6-4 just over two minutes into the game.
- GVSU responded with a 3-pointer to go back on top and would lead the rest of the way.
- A late push by the Lakers made the score 24-13 after 10 minutes.
- The lead stayed right around 10 points the remainder of the half. Grand Valley State eventually took a 43-28 lead at the break, which was their biggest advantage of the half.
- The Lakers pushed the lead to as many as 25 in the third quarter at 64-39, but the Timberwolves responded with a run to get back into the game. NU scored 10 straight points to make the score 64-49 with 1:13 remaining in the third.
- GVSU eventually led 68-51 heading to the final quarter.
- Northwood trailed 71-57 with 8:28 remaining when the Lakers made a final run to put the game away. They scored 10 straight points to make the score 81-59.
- Grand Valleys State's lead grew to as many as 27 before eventually winning by 26.
