Women's Basketball Earns 70-64 Road Win Over Findlay

RECAP: Northwood women's basketball wins their final game of 2022, earning a 70-64 road victory at Findlay Saturday (December 17).

GAME STORY

  • After Findlay scored the first two points of the game, Northwood responded with a big run. The Timberwolves put up the next 13 points to an 11 point lead 3:23 into the game.
  • The Oilers responded by scoring nine of the next 11 points to get within two at 15-13.
  • Northwood eventually led 20-16 after the opening quarter.
  • NU led 32-30 with 1:46 remaining in the half when the Timberwolves finished the half strong. Northwood scored the final seven points of the second to make the score 39-30 at the break.
  • The Timberwolves pushed their lead to 12 at 50-38 with under five minutes remaining in the third when the Oilers fought back.  Findlay made the score 52-47 heading to the final quarter.
  • An 11-1 run for Findlay early in the fourth turned a 55-47 Northwood lead into a 58-57 Findlay advantage with six minutes remaining.
  • The Oilers led 64-63 less than two minutes remaining when Adele Kemp connected on a 3-pointer that started a game-closing run for Northwood.
  • The Timberwolves eventually scored the final seven points in the last 1:26 of the game to earn the win.
