Women's Basketball Earns 81-70 Win Over Ursuline

RECAP: Northwood women's basketball controls the final 16 minutes of the game in an 81-70 win over Ursuline Saturday (January 14).
GAME STORY
- Ursuline started the game shooting the ball well from the floor and the 3-point line, making six of their first 10 field goal attempts and two of their first four 3-pointers for a 14-6 lead.
- Northwood cut the lead down to 19-13 at the end of the opening quarter.
- With the Arrows leading 28-22, the Timberwolves posted a 7-0 run to take their first lead of the day at 29-27.
- Ursuline scored the final four points of the half to take a 40-35 lead at the break.
- The free throw line was where the Arrows earned their lead at the break – both teams had 15 field goals and four 3-pointers in the opening 20 minutes. Ursuline out-scored Northwood 6-1 at the foul line for the lead.
- The Arrows kept the momentum going early in the third quarter, scoring 11 of the first 15 points to take their biggest lead of the day at 51-39.
- Northwood was the better team the remainder of the third quarter, however, out-scoring UC 15-5 over the final 5:39 to make the Ursuline lead 57-54 heading to the fourth.
- The Timberwolves took the lead for good at 63-62 with 7:45 remaining.
- NU led 69-68 with under four minutes remaining when Northwood finished the game strong, going on a 12-2 run to close out the victory.
