RECAP:  Northwood women's basketball earns the 500th win in program history Saturday (January 28), defeating Hillsdale 80-72.

GAME STORY

• With the score tied 8-8 in the early portion of the game, Hillsdale went on a run. The Chargers put up nine straight for their largest lead of the half at 17-8.
• Hillsdale eventually led 19-13 after one quarter.
• HC led by seven early in the second, but it was Northwood who was the better team the remainder of the quarter.
• The Timberwolves tied the game at 33-33 late in the half. The score stood at 35-35 at the break.
• The game was tightly contested throughout the third quarter, as the largest lead for either team was four points.
• Northwood held a 58-56 lead heading to the final quarter.
• The key stretch of the game came at the start of the fourth. Northwood scored the first nine points of the quarter to take the biggest lead of the game at 67-56 with just over five minutes remaining in the game.
• Hillsdale did not go away, getting back within two at 67-65.
• With the NU lead standing at 72-69, Maizie Taylor was fouled while converted a layup. Her free throw got the advantage back to five.
• The Chargers got no closer than four the rest of the way.
