RECAP: Malone women's basketball rides a big run in the first half to an 88-60 win over Northwood Saturday (February 4).
GAME STORY
- Northwood started the game fast, putting up 20 points in the opening 7:04 of the game.
- The key stretch of the game started with the Timberwolves leading 20-13, as the Pioneers when on a big run to take control.
- A free throw for Malone at the 3:06 mark kicked off a 29-2 run to take a seven-point Northwood lead and turn it into a 42-22 lead.
- The Pioneers eventually out-scored Northwood 27-5 in the second quarter, giving them 38 of the final 43 points of the half to take a 51-27 lead at the break.
- MU went 11-18 from the floor in the second (61.1 percent) while going 5-6 from 3-point range (83.3 percent). Northwood went just 2-10 while committing eight turnovers in the quarter.
