Women's Golf Places 10th At Perry Park Spring Fling

The Northwood University women's golf team opened their spring season by placing 10th out of 23 teams at the Perry Park Spring Fling Saturday and Sunday (March 22-23).

The two-day, 54-hole event took place at the Perry Park Golf Club, which played as a par-72.

Northwood, who was forced to play with four players instead of five due to a withdrawal, carded rounds of 316-329-336 to finish at 981 overall.  Grand Valley State was the overall winner at 926, followed by Indianapolis (935) and Ferris State (944).

Leading the way for the Timberwolves was Emily Vergin (Milford, Mich.). She tied for 10th overall after shooting rounds of 75-77-81 to finish at 233 overall. Amee Cox (Liverpool, England) and Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Canada/Newman U.) both tied for 33rd at 242.

Northwood will compete at the Bellarmine Invitational March 24.
