Women's Golf Places 11th At DII Preview Tournament
ALLENDALE, MICH. - The Northwood University women's golf team finished 11th out of 26 teams at the DII National Preview Tournament Sunday afternoon (September 28).
The event was held at The Meadows Golf Club, which will host the NCAA Division II Championships this spring. A field featuring teams from around the country played the two-day, 36-hole event on a course that played as a 6,111 yard par 72.
Northwood shot team scores of 336 and 340 to finish at 676 overall. Grand Valley State and Florida Tech tied for first overall at 626, followed by Nova Southeastern at 634.
The Timberwolves were led by junior Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Canada/Neuman U.). She shot rounds of 81 and 86 to finish at 167 overall, good for a tie for 40th overall. Monica Gabriele (Missassauga, Ont./St. Joseph) finished at 169 (84-86) to tie for 51st. A total of 132 players took part in the event.
Northwood will travel to Findlay October 11-12.
