Women's Golf Places 13th At UIndy Fall Invitational

CARMEL, IND. – The Northwood University women's golf team opened their 2015-16 season with a 13th place finish at the UIndy Fall Invitational Tuesday afternoon (September 15).

The two-day, 36-hole event was held at the Prairie View Golf Club, which played as a 6,095 yard, par 72.

Northwood shot team scores of 339 and 318 for a total of 657. Defending national champion UIndy was the overall winner at 599, followed by Florida Tech at 604. A total of 16 teams competed at the event, which featured some of the best teams in Division II.

The Timberwolves were led by senior Marlies Klekner-Alt (Ottawa, Ont./E'Cole). She carded rounds of 83 and 78 to finish at 161, good for a tie for 37th overall. Angela Chemas (Bogota, Columbia/Grand View) and Danielle Little (Battle Creek, Mich./Lakeview) both finished at 165 to tie for 58th. A total of 90 players competed at the event.

Northwood will compete at the GVSU Invitational September 26-27.
